Biography

Barry S. Josephson was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and is a graduate of UCLA (B.A., 1970) and the highly-prestigious University of Michigan Law School (J.D., 1973).

Mr. Josephson has been a member of the State Bar of California Bar since December 1973 and is also a member of the bar of the U.S. District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California.  In addition, Mr. Josephson has been admitted to practice pro haec vice in a number of other jurisdictions.

Mr. Josephson has been helping bar applicants pass the California Bar Examination (and the bar exams of more than a dozen other states) – and helping law school students in adjusting to and excelling in law school – for more than 35 years.  Over the years, he has been a designor and creator of many new kinds of legal study aids which are now considered "standards in the industry"; and the numerous Bar Review outlines, testing materials, and other bar review and law school study aids that he wrote, co-wrote, or extensively edited have been used by tens of thousands of bar applicants and law students.  Mr. Josephson has also lectured to thousands of law students and bar applicants all over the country on various "examsmanship" and substantive topics, including exam preparation and study methods, exam-taking techniques, Torts, Business Organizations (Corporations, Partnerships, and Agency), and Criminal Procedure (among others).  In addition to the services that Mr. Josephson has provided for "mass-market consumption," he has also provided assistance and tutoring services on a one-on-one basis for hundreds of individuals.  (Click here for more details.)

Irrelevancies for the Curious:  Yes, Barry S. Josephson is related to the nationally-known ethicist and radio commentator Michael Josephson (they are brothers); while Michael was the founder and president of the Josephson Bar Review Center and the Center for Creative Educational Services (entities referenced in Barry's biography), Michael is not otherwise affiliated in any way with Barry's law practice or current tutoring services (or this website).  But no, Barry S. Josephson is not [and has no known relationship to] the movie producer named "Barry Josephson.")
